VILLA ADA/TRIESTE.District Trieste is the name of the seventeenth district of Rome and it is located in the north area of the town. The district is a residential area close to the centre with many parks and interesting archaeological and artistic sites. In this area there are two shopping centres, one is close to the avenues of Eritrea and Libya and the other one is close to via Pò/via Salaria.
The district takes the name from the residence of the Royal Family of Savoia (the villa is actually called Ada) in 1872, and then changed to the name Trieste. The area of villa Ada is a park of about 170 hectares, is open to the public and is bigger than Villa Borghese. There are numerous Christian catacombs of Sant'' Ilaria, of Trasone of Jordan.
