DISTRICT 3 - LANDSTRASSE. Since 1850 Landstraße forms the 3rd District of Vienna. It is located approximately 2km southeast from the city centre. The district lies on the shores of river Danube, in the south, at the bottom of hill “Laaer Berg”. In this area there are many interesting buildings: the Palace Schwarzenberg on the “Schwarzenberg Platz” Square, the baroque castle Belvedere with its art gallery and the gardens, the palace Rasumofsky, the house “Hundertwasser”, the Arsenal, and many more. This area is also interesting for cultural activities and entertainment: concerts at “Wiener Konzerthaus”, several theatres, the city cinema, and the alternative cultural centre called “Arena”, or the Jazz-Club “Birdland”. There are excellent connections: you can reach the centre of Vienna by tram, bus and subway, but also by walk.

DISTRICT 3 - LANDSTRASSE. Landstraße ist seit 1850 der 3. Wiener Gemeindebezirk, und befindet sich etwa 2km südöstlich des Zentrums der Stadt Wien. Der Bezirk liegt einerseits an der Donau, im Süden grenzt Landstraße an den Laaer Berg. Es gibt in dieser Gegend zahlreiche interessante Bauwerke: der Palais Schwarzenberg am Schwarzenbergplatz, das barroke Schloss Belvedere mit der Kunstgalerie und seiner Gartenanlage, der Palais Rasumofsky, das Hundertwasserhaus, das Arsenal usw. Ausserdem sorgt das Wiener Konzerthaus, diverse Theater, das Stadtkino, das alternatives Kulturzentrum Arena oder der Birdland (Jazzclub) für kulturelles und sonstiges Vergnügen.
Mit Strassenbahn, Bus und U-Bahn hat man ausgezeichnete Verbindungen in der ganzen Innenstadt. Man kann das Zentrum sehr gut zu Fuss erreichen.
